Oh my days, this is incredibly weird being online like this, on an actual page. What is happening?
I suppose I should skip the really boring parts like I'm 21 years old, I'm a customer assistant in Tesco and I write for a college newspaper, but where's the fun in skipping boring introductions like that?
No, I am here because of you, my strange yet lovable followers of Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat. It seems that sharing my opinions, funny anecdotes, stories and bits of advice has gotten the attention from a relatively big audience and it has made me come out of my shell, the line of my comfort zone has been crossed thanks to you! I suppose it all started with a new app to hit our PlayStore Apps called Yolo, otherwise known as an anonymous question app. I suppose I gave into the social peer pressures because a lot of people were doing it online so I thought why not? The response I got was huge, my phone has never overheated so fast because of so many notifications coming in. I was utterly shocked to say the least because during the years previous I had always been overlooked by a lot of people, I wasn't the type of girl people would take a second glance at and it was damage to my self confidence and esteem which are both currently being rebuilt.
I was asked over 50 anonymous questions, my responses honest yet entertaining (Honesty is the best policy, okay?), but my responses attracted more attention. One user told me that I should do this every week on Snapchat while another told me how entertaining my story was. As a result, my audience grew and grew and "The Life of Rachel" became known to a wider audience and it did make me feel proud, proud that my life could bring such entertainment to people I have never even met. It didn't matter whether it was to do with advice or a funny anecdote from my daily routine, but people would private message me on a daily basis and share with me how relatable my snaps were, how hilarious they were and how I should maybe think about expanding.
So, here I am, I have expanded (not the weight-gaining type of expansion). I suppose I just want to say a BIG thank you to all my followers out there, you guys have given me in the inspiration to do this, to keep making you guys laugh.
In future expect:
1. Funny anecdotes that happen in my day-to-day life
2. My newspaper articles
3. I'll be posting options for the things you want me to write on through Snapchat (rachel_garvey)
4. Travel bits from when I start going to places (hopefully someday soon)
5. loads more.....
Enjoy guys, this one's for you!
